Set within the quiet neighborhood of Westlake Village, this home was thoughtfully reimagined to create a warm and contemporary living environment rooted in natural simplicity. The design embraces layered textures, natural materials, and a restrained palette that brings clarity and calm to the interiors.
The Vision
The goal for this project was to rethink the home’s layout and create a more open and cohesive flow between the kitchen and surrounding living spaces. By simplifying the architecture and removing visual barriers, the design allows each room to feel connected while maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
Design Approach
Heavy soffits were removed, a sunken living room was leveled, and key doorways were widened or reimagined to open up the kitchen and surrounding living areas. These structural adjustments created a more natural rhythm between spaces while bringing in additional light, openness, and usable space throughout the home.
The Result
New flooring and cabinetry introduced warmth and clarity to the interiors, transforming what was once a dated layout into a light filled environment designed for everyday living and gathering. The result is a contemporary California home that feels relaxed, functional, and thoughtfully refined.
