Inside the Spanish Revival Project: Preserving a 100 Year Old Hollywood Hills Home

Spanish Revival Project

Hollywood Hills, California

A thoughtful restoration of a 100 year old Spanish Revival home that preserves its original character while introducing a more functional, modern way of living.

We approached this project with a deep respect for the home’s history. Original architectural elements were maintained wherever possible, while key areas were carefully reworked to improve flow, usability, and connection between spaces.

The Vision

The goal was to preserve the integrity and charm of the original Spanish Revival architecture while creating a home that feels comfortable, functional, and relevant for modern day living.

Design Approach

Rather than reinventing the home, we refined it. Original features such as plaster walls, arched openings, and traditional proportions were restored and honored, while thoughtful updates were introduced to enhance flow and functionality.

The kitchen, bathrooms, and primary living areas were reimagined to bring in more natural light and create a more cohesive connection throughout the home. Materials and finishes were selected to feel timeless and aligned with the home’s original character, while still offering a fresh and elevated perspective.

The Result

The home now feels both grounded in its history and effortlessly livable. Each space flows naturally into the next, with improved light, function, and purpose throughout.

The result is a warm, layered environment that maintains the soul of the original architecture while supporting the needs of modern living.
